MirrorLink™
Is a standard for connecting smartphone devices to vehicle-based infotainment systems. It is a cross-industry solution supported by leading automotive manufacturers, system suppliers, consumer electronics manufacturers and handset manufacturers as part of the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC). MirrorLink™ offers seamless and convenient use of smartphone-based applications such as navigation, music playback and other entertainment and communication apps. If you own a smartphone that is MirrorLink™ enabled, visit your phone manufacturer’s app store to download the needed software (additional charges may apply) and install it on your phone. The head unit is just a terminal, as all processing is done in the phone. The phone charges while driving. The driver can get live traffic updates while navigating.
DAB+
Now you can enjoy radio with excellent digital sound quality. Built-in DAB, DAB+ and DMB tuners use the latest tuning technology to deliver consistent sound clarity, no matter where you’re driving. In areas where DAB is not available, the unit will automatically switch between RDS and DAB, for continuous high quality reception. It also offers Service Search and a DAB antenna power supply. An optional Alpine antenna is available (KAE-220DA).
Fully Detachable Faceplate
This anti-theft feature lets you easily remove the faceplate with a single touch, so you can take it with you when leaving the car. After removal, the unit will be in standby mode until it is replaced, rendering the unit useless to a thief.
