Description
BRAX MX4 PRO – Rewritten Description
The MX4 PRO was developed with one main goal: raise the standard for high-end car audio amplifiers. Every part of the design was reviewed several times, from major components to the smallest details. This constant refinement is what allows the MX4 PRO to push technical and acoustic limits further than previous generations.
The amplifier combines modern engineering with the long-established build quality the brand is known for. Each unit uses power transistors that are individually measured and selected by hand using in-house testing tools. This process ensures extremely low tolerances and delivers consistent, reliable performance.
A major factor behind the amplifier’s capability is its power supply system. Each pair of channels receives its own stabilized voltage supply, creating ideal operating conditions. Custom ultra-low-ESR capacitors, exclusive toroidal transformers, and a redesigned four-layer circuit board all work together to deliver exceptional current flow and more power than previous models. The MX4 PRO provides a stable 300 watts RMS per channel at 4, 2, or 1 ohm.
The MX4 PRO also integrates smoothly with modern digital setups. When paired with a BRAX DSP, the volume adjustment happens after digital-to-analog conversion, just before the output stages. This protects signal resolution and allows precise control without degrading sound quality. The DSP encodes volume data into the SPDIF signal, which the amplifier then reads and adjusts through analog volume stages.
Every amplifier is built to order, and each one carries its own engraved serial number. This careful production approach ensures that each unit maintains the quality and individuality expected from a German-built high-end product.

Special Feature: DiSAC Volume Control (Simplified Explanation)
Car audio systems usually control volume in two ways:
-
Volume controlled at the head unit – convenient, but when a DSP is added, lowering volume reduces the signal resolution.
-
Volume controlled inside the DSP – the source stays at full level, but digital volume adjustment still slightly affects sound quality.
The MX4 PRO uses a different method when combined with a BRAX DSP. The DSP sends the signal at full resolution and embeds the volume information into the SPDIF stream. The amplifier reads this information and adjusts volume through analog components after D/A conversion. This keeps the audio signal fully intact and ensures the highest possible precision.
This technique is unique in the car audio world and shows the level of detail put into the MX4 PRO’s design.

Start-Stop capability
The switched power supply of the BRAX MX4 PRO assures operation even if the battery’s voltage drops down to 6 Volts during engine crank.
